Chamber music for strings and horn
28 January @ 16h30
A horn recital is a rare affair! Yet, in the late 18th and early 19th century, some horn players were superstars, touring all over Europe; composers were eager to write for virtuosi such as Joseph Leutgeb and Giovanni Punto. Put together by versatile horn player Louis-Pierre Bergeron, this program will feature some of the most beloved works for the horn, Mozart’s Quintet K407 and Beethoven’s Sonata op.17, played on the valveless natural horn, as it was at their creation. The concert will also include the world premiere of a new Quintet by the up-and-coming Québécois composer Simon Bourget
