Elles
Her 2020 JUNO Award-nominated album ELLES honours groundbreaking women composers from Clara Schumann to the present day. A passionate advocate for women’s rights, Thibeault has utilized the broad-ranging ELLES project in various iterations to reach out to at-risk women and raise awareness for organizations that support this important cause. The concert adaptation of ELLES presents a wide-ranging program of works for solo viola by Ana Sokolović, Dorothy Chang, and Melody McKiver.

Trio Kalysta
Trio Kalysta was born in 2019 from a fruitful collaboration between Duo Kalysta — flutist Lara Deutsch and harpist Emily Belvedere — and Juno-nominated violist, Marina Thibeault, on the duo’s debut album, “Origins.” Recognised both for their “polish” and their “mad skills” (Robert Rowat, CBC Music), the trio champions the lesser-known but incredibly colourful repertoire written for its rich instrumentation, highlighting works by female and Canadian composers whenever possible. Upcoming engagements include performances for the Regina Musical Club and the Haliburton Concert Series.

Concerti
Marina champions the rich repertoire of viola concerti. Recent performances with orchestras include Berlioz’s Harold in Italy with Yannick Nézet-Séguin and the Orchestre Métropolitain and the North American premiere of Peteris Vasks’s concerto with the Sinfonia Toronto. Marina is also proud to promote Canadian composers, playing the concertos by Brady, Ichmouratov, and Hamburger, and American composers with stillnesses evolving in glimmering air by Jeffrey Mumford.
